It´s History

• The Chorão Ramalho Office Building owned by the centenarian company João de Freitas Martins, SA. - established in 1888- is a prominent work by the renowned architect Chorão Ramalho, who left a singular legacy of modern architecture in Portugal.

• Dated back to 1961, it was built by the company João de Freitas Martins S.A. shortly after the public works’ completion of the iconic Avenida do Mar.  Designed from scratch for offices’ rental and other commercial activities, it comprises 5 floors including parking, ground floor shop and sea view offices on the upper floors.   With a privileged and unique location on Avenida do Mar, the noble sea front avenue of the city of Funchal, right opposite Funchal Harbour, where approximately 300 Cruise Ships visiting the island of Madeira, dock each year, offering its users a remarkable distinctive hallmark.
